Timber Grading Qualification Certificate
Issued January 2002 by the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC)
The grading authority and rules exist to independently confirm
and assess a predefined objective quality standard so that
customers can purchase Guyanese timber with confidence. Only
authorised timber graders may carry out timber grading.
The Guyana Timber Grading Rules (GTGR) are
applied through Guyana for grading forest produce
with type references GR01 to GR13. The rules
apply to all local and export markets. A timber
marketing certificate will be issued in accordance
with the grade for each type of produce.
